However long it takes you to get your point across. That seems like a reasonable amount, but don't sugar coat it in order to make it longer, since that usually leads to having useless information.

yeah, the writing prompts are basically the same retarded questions as on the SAT. The writing section is a different score that doesn't affect your composite score, although a college will see it if you take it. Some schools require it, so i'd check the ones you're applying to to see if they do

Why don't you go to www.collegeboard.com to take a look at recent real SAT prompts. They already posted the Oct. SAT (2006) essay prompt this week.

You can also practice from the college board book or Princeton's, but they are just practices.
