Writing Prompts Ideas

Kathleen Said:

Writing Prompts you'll share with me?? Ideas for Writing?

We Answered:

1. Go to a random news related website and pick one of the headlines - center your story around that or make it a part of your story.

2. Pick up your favorite magazine, close you eyes, open to any page, put you finger on the page, if it's on a word, write it down - if it's on a person - model one of your characters on that person. Do this about a dozen times. With the words you've collected - write a story using every one of them. This sounds lame, but it will make you think. The story may not be great, but you might be able to make it great.

3. Consider any of the following sentences and either make them your first sentence or force yourself to use one or more of them in a story. This will also get the creative juices flowing.

A. Celeste didn't know why her best friend had slammed the door in her face, but would stop at nothing to find out.

B. Rain fell heavy, drenching the two girls who shivered in the corner of the abandoned building.

C. The horror of last night lingered, keeping Charlie Maxwell awake.

Hope these give you some ideas - Good Luck~
