Byron Said:
Bhopal Gas Tragedy - Who is Responsible ?We Answered:
honestly,i feel sick, when i think of the people who suffered, reports say 1200 USD compensation was given on an avg, life is so cheap in our country ,n we make it cheap.the US fishes received 20 bn USD(that too without any legal procedure,it was purely out of fear of the US govt) ,within 6 weeks of d oil spill,n our people who struggled 4 more den quarter of a century received this, verdict,we call that justice.2 yrs imprisonment or a bail on 25000 INR,gr8,in our law the ppl who overstay our country without a valid visa or trespass the LOC also get 2 yrs of imprisonment n bail on 5000 INR.the 2 crimes r equivalent in our law,can anythin b more ironical n hypocritical than this?the lawyer who fought on th behalf of union carbide(they fought 4 the case 2 b tried in Indian courts rather than US courts, because they knew how much they would have had to cough up if the case had been tried in US courts,n c despite being foreigners how enormous faith they had in our judiciary,n it paid 2)has recently published his memoirs,d 81 yr old lawyer claimed that he has no take on supreme court's verdict on carbide,n has no regrets that he represented them.i wonder how many wads of notes were thrust in his mouth, that even @ 81 he has no qualms claiming that its perfectly okay to murder your countrymen n lick the feet of the CEO's of MNC's.
The spokesperson of the Union Carbide recently told in an interview oh rather innerview, that he feels good that mr anderson feels vindicated and offered his sympathy for the victims.i would like to ask him, had he n his wife would hv been expectin their first child ,had it been aborted on that fateful night, had he fought 4 26 yrs,n have got this soundless slap, then could that bastard has said the same thing?
i read a story of a women who was rallying, protesting, demanding for justice, for 26 yrs, when her only surviving son was coughing blood, another woman lost 35 relatives due to that gas leak, more than 20,000 were killed instantly,100000 were maimed ,5,00,000 were directly affected out of a population of 85,00,00,lakhs of people inherited the toxic legacy because of the tragedy that occurred before even they were born, and we used our state owned aircraft to escort the person out who was responsible for this?1 month prior 2 the disaster a journalist expressed his concerns over the faulty security arrangements,he told the govt, the MNC that bhopal was sitting on an impending disaster,no one heeded him, everyone was busy making money.
the departing words of that bastard who is 90 now n lives in multi million mansion in new york were : house or no house arrest,or bail or no bail,i am free to go home..there is a law of the US,India bye ,bye, thank you.
everyone was responsible from the then PM,CM to Collector and every bloody govt official n politician who facilitated his departure.the people responsible for the biggest industrial disaster of the world, today, they are the most powerful people, politicians n CEO's of the MNC's,possessing enormous power n money,c how guilty are punished in our country.can there be any greater penalty than this?a greenpeace activist(an international NGO) tracked the house,oh sorry palace of that bastard, but the neighbour tried to misguide him by saying that no anderson lives here and the man has got nothing to do with bhopal gas tragedy(even though the activist, casey, didnt mention it).finally when she got to meet him in person,he pretended to be someone else and denied any responsibility 4 the disaster.
even today the political parties are politicising the matter,no effort has been made to cleanse the area,to decontiminate the ground water or the soil, let alone charge the guilty.govt said it didn't take any action, fearing that MNC's wont come and invest. You know what i think the real reason was,it affected mainly those who belonged to that strata of the society in the country that is denied even the basic right of being called a citizen of the country.
In 9/11 approximately 3000 people died, same as the official figure of the bhopal tragedy victims.US launched a worldwide attack against terrorism, and we made the use of a govt owned aircraft to justify the disaster, pretty patriotic.
its time folks, that we stand up for ourselves,110 crore n counting,we have enormous power,we need to unleash our energies in the right manner, being able to c through the hypocritical policies of the political parties.today we don't need MNC's,they need us,because we are the one who are consuming their crap ,ryt frm coldrinks, chocolates to evrything,we need to stand up for ourselves,i appeal to all of you ,please if you think that you owe our country even a single second of your life, then plz raise your voice about this issue,so that its loud enough to awaken our govt from its deep slumber.
Lloyd Said:
is there a way to convert this C++ code into a java code, anyone that could help me please =)?We Answered:
I'm not going to do this for you, partly because I haven't done Java for a while, but to make your life a lot easier use the Date object; java.util.Date. You can search for that easily enough, but here a few little examples: http://www.java-tips.org/java-se-tips/ja… You'll need to play around with the syntax a bit, but basically you won't have to hard code the words "January", "February", etc.You can just take the number for the month and the number for the year, and create a date object for the first day of the next month. So if the user entered month 1, year 2010, you'd create a Date object with month 2, day 1, year 2010. There should be a "datediff" function or something like that, and if you subtract 1 day from this, you'll have the number you want. Be sure to account for the case of month 12... in this case add 1 to the year and set the month to 1, of course.
So basically if month < 12, add 1 to the month and make the day 1. If month == 12, add 1 to the year and make the month + day 1. Take the resulting date, subtract 1 day, and you have the number of months.
Hope that makes sense to you.
