Writing Activities For Kids

Daniel Said:

I need to teach my preschool kids about real and make believe. What activities could I use?

We Answered:

A good circle time activity is to prompt them with the question of how we use our imaginations to "make-believe" every day in all of our class areas. Record their answers. Also, we play the "what's in our Mystery box today?" Each child chooses a make-believe crayon. Have them draw a door that they will open (sound effects are fun) take down the box from the shelf and one at a time go around the circle and have them open their box and give clues about what's inside. Record their answers. They're always funny :)

Vincent Said:

What single activity can I do to make me stand out to a college?

We Answered:

Run naked thru campus.

Stella Said:

Why men don't schedule their kids activities and why they don't shop for their kids?

We Answered:

Quite the generalization...My husband is very involved with our daughter. There isn't much he hasn't done or won't do for her. Including shopping for her and running her around town to various events...

Tommy Said:

This Summer Watching the Kids?

We Answered:

That's a lot to do for one person, even a professional will complain about so much work. I think it would really be physically as well as mentally exausting for both you and the kids to do so much every single day for five days a week. And on top of that they will probably whine too and you have to keep the house clean. You should say something to you stepdad about it, tell him about your scedule and try to compromise. You can do all those things but not all in the same day, alternate between the homework and the weekdays. For example:

Mondays: Piano and Math, and an activity like the park or swimming.
Tuesdays: Make something fun, like a project or craft and let them read that day and then go out to do something afterward.
Wednesdays: Piano and Writing and an activity
Thursdays: Math and Reading
Friday: Field Trip day or something.

If you alternate it won't be that bad. Ask your stepdad which homework is top priority and do those a little more than others. Have fun too this summer, like you said that's what summer is for, to mostly relax from school.

Jeanette Said:

We Answered:

Holly Said:

Can anyone give me ideas for kids activities?

We Answered:

Gymboree has some great books on this topic that are age related. I also wrote a similar article with a few ideas and a link to a creative ideas website ( not mine) http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-60813-Flint-Motherhood-Examiner~y2010m8d9-Cheap-toys-for-your-children--How-to-have-fun-and-not-spend-a-lot-of-money
