The most important thing to do when writing a creative writing paper is to relax and let your imagination take the wheel. That might sound stupid, but it will help. You need to think of how the characters are.
For example:
A very irresponsible/wreckless character might end up going to Hollywood and getting into bad things and eventually dying.
A smart/generous character might own his own business and be very respected and have a nice family of 4.
The best part about creative writing is you can't be wrong! It's your own personal take on the characters. You must support your reasoning, though. If you want Little Johnny to become an astronaut by the age of sixteen, you can say it. Just support your reasoning.

when starting an action scene, use slightly longer sentences while you write prologue and start moving into it. Then as the scene reaches it's climax use shorter, choppier sentences, especially if the main character is getting desperate. Ignore most grammar during this part. Then, if you want a BIG impact, suddenly jump into a 'silence', a mental or emotional explosion for the character, as you suddenly move into the aftermath.
However, don't use use this for every action scene in your story - only the ones that make a substantial impact on the character or story.
