I think you've got it. Pretend that each of these things is a member of a family and they need to get into the cell.

She wants you to explain how each of these things enter the cell in a story format, she just gave you the characters.

I think the teacher means just describe the physical / artwork of the symbol you have designed, like describe what it looks like. With then an interpretation of it , I think he wants you to design your own symbol , like a traffic sign kind of thing but your own idea ~ for example a stop sign (you know what that looks like right?)

(-) it is red and has a white stripe going through it (description) To me it means STOP , the end is nigh etc etc etc 4-5 sentences.

I know you wouldn't choose to draw that , but I definitely think he wants you to draw a Symbol , like maybe a type of Zodiac sign . That e.g. a goats head for capricorn, or a sign for woman (the circle with the cross underneath) are both symbols

I want to help you get this right so this might sound harsh or maybe a bit patronizing / humiliating but I think a drawing of a beach 'might' be a little too 'busy' too much going on in the scene to be a 'symbol' , then you are describing a beach in general, you are not describing your drawing , which I think perhaps wouldn't be counted as a symbol.

I'm sure you drew a lovely beach drawing and please don't be upset , anyhow I 'might' be wrong lol

BTW I know you are intelligent and sorry if I'm assuming you are younger , but I'm trying to make myself clear for you , to make sure you understand (as I don't know you at all)

So according to me you have to

Draw a symbol~ similar perhaps to this Mandala

Describe the physical workings of you design

Write a short essay about its significance to you , how you feel about it etc why you chode it etc.

It is said that if a human closes their eyes and focuses inside themselves they will see symbols. These are Mandalas. A beautiful beach is someplace you might sit on the friendly sands while the waves whisper stories of days gone by. The sun sets slowly and the warm light makes everything glow. Here on this beach, you'd close your eyes and look within yourself and then describe what you see in detail.

Write about something you love to do. It doesn't really matter if Mrs. Chandler already knows it or not. The point of the assignment is the writing. So enjoy the assignment and Mrs. Chandler will enjoy grading it.

BTW- I totally agree with the person who suggested tech related ideas, there is a good chance your teacher could be taught something new.
