Help with TAKS Practice Prompt for English?

We Answered:

To get a good intro:
- Start with a quote, or anecdote which relates to the theme of 'depending'
- Define what depending means
- Add short snippets of what the following paper will consist of

To add to the paper:
- How they are always there
- An experience which justifies your dependence on them
- Why they are your main people of dependence
- A quote from one or both of them, of how they will always be there

Also dont forget to end your paper with a great statement/line which ties back in with the theme. This is imperative as it is the last thing you will take from the paper.

Am I going to get reported to the authorities?

We Answered:

They don't know either way whether or not your uncle was convicted or not so I can't see them doing that, and if you are over eighteen they can't legally put their noses in your business because you're an adult now.

**Edit: At the same time, guidance councellors by law must report any miscondcut their students tell them whether or not the student asks not to, if they don't say they can lose their jobs for withholding the information. So this might be a similar situation- I'd re-read the rules for the writing prompt.

You personally will not get in trouble but your uncle could.

grammar corrections needed. ?

We Answered:

1. "Through out"
- I think you should say Throughout. It is a real word and sounds more put together

2. "The three teachers that pushed me throughout high school were my biology, chemistry, and senior English class. Its interesting to look back and see that biology , chemistry, and senior English were the only classes I enjoyed and hated at the same time."
- You should re write the "biology, chemistry, and senior English" part. You say it twice and it sounds repetitive. Try saying "Its interesting to look back and see that those three were the only classes I enjoyed and hated at the same time"

3. "So every writing assignment was a reflective paper with a random prompt."
- Ahhhh!!! Never begin a sentence with the word "So". NEVER!!! Just delete it and the sentence will sound fine without it.

4. "But never could I get enough details, or the message across clearly."
- Another... don't begin the sentence with "but" either!! No Butts! Try saying "I could never seem to get the message across clearly, or put in enough details".

5. "scattered brained"
- "scattered brained'? I'm pretty sure that's not a word. The real word is scatterbrained, i think

Hope this helps!

CRAIGSLIST: LEGITIMATE OFFER?? EMAILS INCLUDED?

We Answered:

I do not trust most job offers on Craigslist. The way most of the scams work is that the person will pay you in advance with a company check. You will then be asked to wire money somewhere. Maybe it is for toys or special food or just a refund of too much money. You will wire the money and never hear from them again. The check will bounce in a month or 2.

With the amount of money he is willing to spend he can use a professional agency and not Craigslist.

I may be completely wrong. Just be careful and do not wire or transfer any money anywhere.
