How can I write a better SAT essay? We Answered:
First of all, pick the side of the issue that you know the most about so you have more material for your body paragraphs. It is not the length of the paragraphs but that they are written well that counts. For every paragraph, have an introductory sentence, a sentence or two with examples that support your opinion, and a concluding paragraph. Try writing sample essays and time yourself. If you tend to write in long run-on sentences, try making them tighter and shorter. It is better to have a shorter well written essay than a long rambling one. Write a really good concluding paragraph for the essay and you'll be fine. Good luck!! : P
Julia Said:
Is it okay to write satirically or cleverly and whimsically on the SAT essay? We Answered:
Satire is BAD. VERY VERY BAD.The SAT essay should be an extremely straightforward, simple essay that clearly and practically explains and supports your standpoint on the topic. Sarcasm will only cause your score to go way down.

SAT essay HELP?We Answered:
This information is based on the SparkNotes SAT guide.-Write 3-4 sentence paragraphs only. It will save time for you.
-3 body paragraphs is the easiest way to get a 6 from your raters
-When you con only think of a hypothetical situation, say you read an article and your hypothetical situation was the article. It makes hypothetical a definite and you can make up whatever you want.
-Try to have 1-2 examples from history or a book that you read. SAT raters look highly upon history and reading.
For me, I used Hearts in Atlantis for all of my essays. If you have never read it, try it before you take the test (if you have time). It will touch upon almost any topic tha they can give you. Fight Club is another great book for the SAT. It is loaded with philosophy and has a lot to do with consumerism, which is a big topic for the SAT.
***ALMOST ALL WRITING PROMPTS ARE PHILOSOPHICAL OR BASED ON MORAL AND HUMAN BEHAVIOR***
This is why these books are great. One other big thing, they dont take off points for wrong dates or names as long as you are close.
READ:
Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King
Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
(aside from being very helpful, they are great books)
