Any tips on writing poetry on uninteresting topics?

We Answered:

why don't you write of dreams for happiness - it'll be hopeful and you'll still be able to convey you're sadness in reality by not even saying anything sad

*I never knew I could write happy poetry till I thought of that theme - its quite addictive actually

good luck : )

what is a good topic for writing poetry on?

We Answered:

well really anything that can make you feel
yes, you can write about love
but you can also write about poetry itself
or hate
or death
or eating ice when drinking (i wrote a poem abt that)
berries (i wrote a triolet about those)
bannanss (my personal fav. fruit)
or think of a story and write about that
therez really no such thing as a good topic for poetry, you make a topic good

write about anything, seriously, anything that brings out ANY kind of emotion, articulate that emotion and begin to write...if you want more inspiration then try out shadowpoetry.com - that way you can explore different forms of poetry, that could help you out :)

What are some good topics to write poetry about?

Draw parallels between what you see or hear in nature and what you feel inside your being. Its a very good way to be metaphorical without being too blatant. Keeping a journal will help you understand what you are feeling a lot more easily.
