Pictures As Writing Prompts

Is there a way to screen capture a pic ,name it & send to folder x on a Mac OS?We Answered:
Your Mac comes with a very nifty screen capture utility called Grab. You can find it in the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder. You open Grab, and under the Capture menu select what you want to do. If you want to capture a specific area, you can do that.Grab saves what you captured and immediately opens it so you can see it. It's saved as .tif file. You can name the file and choose where to save it.
This is much more effective than the standard key-combination method, and let's you name and save as you want to do.
Also regarding an upgrade to Snow Leopard (10.6) you won't be able to do so on a PowerPC Mac. You have to have an Intel Mac to support Snow Leopard.

What's the best way to write an essay with a prompt like this?We Answered:
There are so many code words in that essay prompt it's easy to see what they are looking for. They are looking for liberals."values an educational environment"
"opportunities to grow and develop culturally and socially"
"how will your presence enrich our community?"
"circumstances that may have had an impact on your academic performance"
They don't care for your personal enrichment, just how you can enrich society.

What's my writing style like?We Answered:
.Hi Diya:I am beginning to get into the plot. Your style is refreshing and a bit raw. However, this quality can often give writers an edge to stand out among the zillions of aspiring novelists. I grew up on Nancy Drew mysteries. Have you read any of her books? She is before your time of course, but she is a get to the point type of author, and in this respect I can see similarities.
Just out of curiosity, is your setting actually somewhere in London? I am unfamiliar with the term "takeaway store." For some reason, i feel as though the setting is in the eastern world.
Unfortunately, I would be unable to tell you if your style resembles another writer, but what I do know is that you developed Ada's character very early on. This endears the reader to her character. Note that there are only a few instances in which you can end a sentence with a preposition. (character early on)...lol It seems a bit premature to introduce the mystery woman so early, but, it's your story. By the way, remove the CAPS for "the woman who brought shame".....If you would like for me to edit or to put a spin on the opening paragraphs, it's absolutely free...please email me. I started an editing group in July, and have been teaching 7th graders to enhance their writing. How it works is that you send me a paragraph or 2 and I make revisions. Once we exchange postings for a couple of times you continue on your own. You use what you want and hopefully, you will gain an even broader perspective in your writing.

How can I make my writing scary? We Answered:
'Suddenly, he heard the sound of a quiet rustling...'Don't offer so many prompts to the reader such as this one. Suspense building should be done in a more subtle way.
'...he could see the dark figure'
'"Who's there?" he asked, straining his voice.'
Avoid cliche. Horror comes from the unexpected or the abject. Dark figures leering towards the protagonist has been done to well, death. "Who's there?" is the most cliched line you could have used in this situation.
