First of all, who is "Everyone"? Do you have facts to back this statement. It's really more of an opinion. You could use "It is generally accepted that spending..." rather than "Everyone knows..."

The word you want is "farther" rather than further, grow rather than "become", and "apart" rather than "part". "Kids and parents will grow farther apart..."

Use "Eliminating homework" rather than "Having no homework..."

I wouldn't necessarily use activity that results in a lot of sitting around. You could make a better case for combating childhood obesity (fat children) by giving them more time to run around outside, perhaps?
