I always advise students to write about what they really know about; so what do you want to 'sell' me? What if I wanted to buy a game console, would you tell me to buy Xbox or Wii? Or a MP3 player..Sony or iPod? Or well, you get the idea. Make it something you are interested in and know about...the writing will be much easier.

Your best bet is to stay away from nutball political sites like PETA. They won't give you accurate information. Here is a link to the National Institutes of Health's page on alternatives to animal testing and another to an article about MIMIC.

As you can see, there isn't one big alternative to animal testing. We use it for too many different things. However, sometimes someone invents a good alternative to this test here or that test there. The MIMIC system would be a good example to use for your report. It's an artificial immune system in a test tube, and it's used to develop vaccines. It came out last year. It's fast and accurate and replaces several steps in the vaccine development process that would otherwise involve animals. Maybe you could look up some more recent articles and see whether scientists have adopted it on a large scale or whether they're clinging to the old animal process.
