Marjorie Said:

A government has not only the right, but also the responsibility, to regulate what is broadcast over the publi?

We Answered:

Well are you referring to the government in the USA or another country? In the USA the government does not have to right to censor what the media prints/states although sometimes they do (check out the book "the federal mafia" by Irwin Schiff) where the court ordered that his book could not be printed and had to be pulled from the shelf's and then they put him in jail (he is about 82 years old) and ran a bookstore called "freedom books" because the government did not like the truth being printed about the government in the USA. The government also try to stop other books being published depending on the subject matter, especially about the "illegal" income tax.

I have no idea about the regulations in Canada or other country's but in any socialistic government the government does control the media and business's as well as the people, but the levels of control depend on the individual country.

need help with MCAT scoring method.?

We Answered:

Physical science (includes physics and general physics), Verbal Reasoning and Biological Science (includes biochemistry/biology) are all on a 15 point scale.

15+15+15 = 45.

There are 144 questions.

The point system is not 1:1. It's actually based on a percentile chart.

When they "Tested" the questions, certain students got them right, and some got them wrong.
Based on their perceintle, guaged how the questions are scored.

So IE, you take the biological science section

One version of the test somebody got 32 of those questions right, and got a 11 score.
Another version of the test somebody could get 30 questions right, and they could get an 11.

It's based on a percentile chart, not questions right.

Verbal reasoning section is probably the worst (at least for me). All 3 sections are multiple choice. Verbral reasoning has "stories" you have to read (usually from the humanities) and you have to answer comprehension/main topic... questions about it.

It's probably the hardest section for "normal" med students. Cool thing is, if you practice it enough, you can actually get it. Unlike the other sections, where you just need to learn the material.
