How To Writing Prompts

Ruth Said:

What anxieties do you have about collegiate writing?

We Answered:

One anxiety is that my thoughts might freeze up and that I would not know how to continue with what I was writing./

Darren Said:

In essence, what is a "writing prompt?"?

We Answered:

A "writing prompt" is basically a question. Prompt, as in "to incite" or move into action... for writing. It's what you respond to in order to write an essay. It could be one sentence, or a collection of sentences, depending on what type and how long of an essay the asker is seeking.

Hope that helps.

Lori Said:

What Does A Writing Prompt Look Like?

We Answered:

I prompt for a writing assignment can be anything. My teacher would usually have us read an political article from the paper and then just ask us if we agreed with that it said or not, and we would have to write a paragraph or so explaining our choose. So umm example would be: Abortion is murder. Agree or disagree? Write 2 paragraphs supporting your choice.

Constance Said:

Can somebody help me with this writing prompt?

We Answered:

How animals came about.
for the one above you could do any animal individually.
How the turtles shell is cracked.
How people came on this planet.
why there are plants.
why there is water.
why there are continents.
etc...
hope this helps and good luck

Ashley Said:

How am I supposed respond to this writing prompt?

We Answered:

easy -- your teacher said to write a reaction paper. you watch a documentary about a topic giving you the information that the director of that documentary wanted you to know (his own spin on the evidence) so i would say write the paper on you views on the the material given. what did you think? did you agree? what are your feelings? stuff like that. and if you do just a little bit of research you can also add other points of view on the subject matter.
