This is an awesome topic I did my undergrad thesis on Christopher Columbus's torture of the Taino Indians. Christopher Columbus discovered America and the age of exploration and that is why he is so famous and well-liked to most people. He settled in La Navidad and then La Isabela where he tortured many of the local Indians there called the Tainos. Columbus has sent many of encounters with the natives there to Queen Isabela of Spain who sponsored his voyages. He basically set the way for future explorers from Europe, esp. Spain and Portugal, to explore the New World further to conquer the land, the people, and to look for gold. Some of these people were Hernan Cortes who conquered and destroyed the Aztecs and Francisco Pizarro who conquered the Incas. So basically the answer to your question is that Columbus conquered the New World in search for riches to his country and for personal fame which came at the expense of the natives that fell to European diseases and mistreatment. You have to start by deciding what you saw under the rock, why you grabbed it, what happened when you grabbed it, any kind of problems you encountered, and how the whole episode turned out, whether good or bad.

When you are capitalizing, you only need to capitalize the first word in the sentence and any proper nouns.
