if you have trouble remembering specific dates, try to remember the decade or some other relavent info, i.e. other events happening at that time, Im unfamiliar with the test you are referring to but i have written a lot of essays in history at the college level, and this strategy has really helped, try not to pin down an exact date if you are unsure, it helps if you are sure and put it but most people reading your paper and determining what you know about history are less interested that you know the exact date than if you know what happened and WHY it happened, the WHY is the most important thing, If you can explain the cause and effect of the topic that you are writing about then the exact date is less important, but it is important to have a general idea as to when something happened

We Answered:

no they usually have a subject. maybe "why should we pick you to attend our university" or "why do u wnat to be accepted to our university" or "who inspires you most" they are usually somehting that asks to talk about ur self. alwyas talk in positive light. and try to focus on two or three acomplishments u have had maybe in a club or sport. be very detailed!!
