Elementary Writing Prompt
Rosa Said:
How do I describe my immediate family? We Answered:
Try something like this and modify to suit your needs:I was born into a family of three.
My mom and dad met when they were in college and married shortly after that. I came along when my brother was 6. Because of the age differnence we are not very close, but from what I have heard, this will come in the future. Right now, we relate to each other in the typical brother and sister fashion. We don't actually fight (physically anyway) BUT we do share enough insults with each other to keep my parents busy mediating.
I dont have a 'favorite parent'
they both have thier good and bad points.
My dad is much more of a disciplinarian so as long as I continue to get good grades, I dont have to worry about much in terms of getting onto his bad side. I guess it is true what they say about daughters and dads. We do have a special bond that is very different than what I see when he relates to my brother. I dont think he loves me any more or less, it is just different.
My mother is my best friend. Although she is my mom, most o fthe time I feel as if I can talk to her about anything. She is very fair and open minded about most things. Because of her degree in early childhood education, she seems more able to relate to me. I feel lucky when I talk to my friends about their relationships with theri parents. Since my mom works outside the home, it has been a challenge for our family to find time to spend with each other, i have attempted to help ,my mom more and more around the house so taht she will have more time to relax when she gets home. She seems to appreciate that. We also attempt to have a meal together a few nights a week so that we can share the events of our lives while we are having a meal. Of course we are not the huxtibles but for now life is good.

1. False dilemma2. Hasty generalization.
3. False analogy
4. ad ignorantum
5. Post hoc ergo propter hoc
6. slippery slope (which is not the same or a similar fallacy to the 'black and white' fallacy - despite what you might read elsewhere. The 'black and white' fallacy is similar to 'false dilemma'. The list must have a mistake).
7. Attacking the person
8. Appeal to authority
9. Contrary-to-fact hypothesis
10. Appeal to emotion
11. Two wrong
12. non sequitur
