no, that’s not plagiarism. Many authors took a small idea inspired by something they saw on television, in a magazine, or even in another book and it spurred a whole story for them. As an individual the one small idea takes over a whole new world and by the end you can’t hardly recognize the small detail that started the ball rolling. As long as you don't take these short stories and included them in your book. Just look at the aspect that interests you and see where your mind takes it. It probably isn't even close to where the original writer would have taken it.Good luck!
