Michele Said:
How to decide on a creative title and write a hooking intro? We Answered:
When I write essays, I typically leave the title for the last thing I do. I like to pull out words, phrases, or powerful parts that I used in the body of the paper to create a title. This way, it no doubt describes the paper well and it can become creative depending on the level of creativity of the essay. To hook the reader, I would start out with a quotation that will later be dissected into symbols/motifs. Another option would be to use an analogy. For example, if you're writing about how something black may have signaled the reader that death is near, you can use something most people would be familiar with to begin the essay like this: " 'Don't answer the phone. Don't leave the house. Don't answer the phone. But most of all, don't scream.' Unlike in the movie Scream, symbols are not always as crystal clear to see as we would like them to be. In The Hunchback of Notre Dame, by Victor Hugo, there are several subtle motifs that symbolize gothicism." and so on. That's a pretty weak example, but it's your paper, not mine :) good luck!
