Creative Writing Course

Renee Said:

does every college have a creative writing course?or one that can become your major,do you get itplease answer?

We Answered:

I think most colleges that have English Departments have creative writing courses. in terms of having it as your major, usually universities or 4-year colleges offer the English major with different concentrations you can choose from, including creative writing. But to be sure, check the English department web page of the university you plan to go to, and it usually lists their programs there. or you can go straight to the university home page, click on academics, and then majors/programs, and it gives you a list.

Chris Said:

I want to major in Social Work but I also want to take a Creative Writing course... is this possible?

We Answered:

Of course - when you major in something, you take a concentrated load of those classes. However you don't take every single class in your major. All colleges have breadth requirements, so you might have to take some classes that you are not particularly interested in just to graduate. You also have the flexibility to take some other classes. In your case it would be Creative Writing.

Good luck in college! And keep asking questions if you're not sure of something - that's the fastest way to learn.

Evelyn Said:

Starting my first college course in Creative Writing need help on autobiography.?

We Answered:

You could start with an anecdote -- your most embarrassing moment, your most triumphant moment, your most surprising moment, or your most frightening moment, for example. And draw a theme from it to spring-board you into either a chronological autobiography or one that follows that specific theme (or multiple themes) throughout your life.

Good luck!
