One would have expected them to have had Latinized Celtic names, but the reverse seems sometimes to have been the case. The name Gladys, for instance, seems to be a Briticized version of Claudia. Your best bet might be to look at some histories of Roman Britain, such as Tacitus' Agricola and Gildas' De Excidio Britanniae (Of the Destruction of Britain), along with modern histories of the time and place. This isn't as monumental task as it may sound, since translations exist, and all you would really have to do is skim the index of each book for people's names and then look on the relevant pages to see whether those are names you would want to use. As far as what to write about - you can only write about what you know - you can know it by experiencing it or by reading about it. That should be your only subject material.

As for forms and such - I found a kinda cool website a while back - it gives ideas for poetry assignments, which can get you into the swing of writing.

look, I'm an aspiring writer too, and I'm like that. I'm super excited, typing my head off, then BAM! I can't write anymore. You know what I do? I type it, first off, so I can edit it if I want to, if I get a good idea.
Another thing is take a break from it. I had this story going once upon a time, and I got sick of it, so give it up for a few days and try again. It might take til up to a month, but you'll start writing again.
This one sounds a bit too obvious, but read. I know, but it helps. Trust me.
