Book Writing Help

Vivian Said:

Book Writing?

We Answered:

I would suggest doing a very rough outline. Not Roman numeral I, then A, then a.

Write out a sentence about what happens first. Then a sentence about what happens next.

If you like you can also put it on index cards so you can shuffle them around if you need to.

You can do it!

Book writing help, how do I start?

We Answered:

It's incredibly hard to get a book published at the moment, so you need to make sure that the book you are showing them is the best you can do. Contact them when you have written the book, proof-read it, re-written it, got a second opinion and then re-written it again. Also the debut novel of an author must be good otherwise it won't get published, because the author's reputation and therefore how much money she will make depends on their first book.

Book writing.?

We Answered:

200 to 250 words per printed page. Average book length 100 - 140 thousand words give or take. So you have a long way to go to have a book. The publisher will work with you choosing font when and if you get to that point. I write all my manuscripts in Word - Times New Roman. Some editors like Courier New. Shrugs. It takes a second to change if that's what I need. C.

book writing?

We Answered:

Hi,
You need to put in a lot of work yourself. Having said that, since you already have an idea about what will happen, I suggest the following.
1. Write down the plot you have in mind. When we think we think many things, but writing down makes things clearer.
2. Read what you wrote down, change if you feel so, or else, try to add a few more of your thoughts developing your plot.
3. Give names for characters, if you have them already. List down what you think they do or how they are, like their age, gender, occupation, location, features etc.
4. Read again what you wrote until then and change if you feel so.
5. Think further on what is already written and what else could happen in your story. Just note down points, you need not write long paragraphs.
6. Basically develop the plot and characters in writing, rather than your thoughts.
7. You will build further from there.
8. And you feel things are enough, start keying in or writing the story in full text.
9. Keep the title for the end. Right now call it by something.
You have to do it yourself, and you can do it.
All the best..

How to improve my vocabulary and My book writing knowledge?

We Answered:

Reading definitely is a top way to increase vocabulary. There are workbooks you can get from bookstores that have exercises that will help you increase your word power.

Keeping a word notebook is helpful and playing word games like scrabble or wordtwist are fun ways too. They actually made the list on the site that I added below.

Good Luck!

What application is the best for book writing?

We Answered:

Any word processor will work quite well with writing books, I have had experience with several different programs during writing three different novels, and i personally think "open office" is the best application for this, and with this, you can export directly to pdf's, and it's completely free. check out (openoffice.org)
