Looks good.

You may want to mention specifically Camus's experiences in colonial North Africa.

Help with my personal statement for grad school?

We Answered:

1. For the first part of this question, think about which one you want to write about. Values? Philosophies? Or attitudes? Maybe you believe having high moral values have made it possible to not be pregnant by the time you reach college. Maybe you have a philosophy of life that it is never a good idea to regret any decision and this phil. is important to you. Maybe your attitude is that you are always going to be happy in any situation. Choose one of these three and write about it.
2. How would you define yourself. Think of adjectives. Hard working, responsible, happy, serious, etc.
3. I think the other questions are doable.
There isn't anything that is taboo. In fact, some of the more taboo sounding things make great attention grabbers.

A personal statement usually includes the following. You need a good attention grabber. In general you want your essay to follow this order:

Paragraph 1-2 attention grabber. Think of an experience in your life that really showcases who you are. Be detailed. Discuss something signifcant in your life. It could be anything. Or discuss why you want to be in your profession or what story inspired you to study what you are studying.

Paragraph 3-4. Highlight your academics: GPA, AP and honors classes. What skills you learned in class that will help in succeeding in college. Awards and honors that you have received. Sports or clubs that you are in.

Paragraph 5. Jobs that you have had that relate to your major? Any other things about yourself that you want to include

Paragraph 6: Conclusion

Katrina Said:

could you please help me get started with this prompt?

We Answered:

350-500 words, single spaced is about 1-2 pages. Not very much. Simply think about the last three years of your life and if there were any turning points in it, something that changed the way you think or deeply affected you. Then write about it what you want people to know about it.

for instance, you were in a car accident that left you scarred. You want people to know that you learned beauty is only skin deep and that being a kind, generous person is what matters most in life.

or you could have inherited a million dollars and you want the audience to know that you plan on saving most of it and not spending it on ridiculous and worthless items.

college entrance essay?

We Answered:

Do you have any papers from school that you are particularly proud of? Is there a current events issue that concerns you (or that you know about)?

The best essays will be those that you know most about. Any teacher can tell if you know what it is you are writing about, so don't try to BS the paper.
It matters far less what the topic is, than how it is prepared. So, even if you don't think that anyone else could possible be interested in your topic, it doesn't matter.

It does not serve you well to try to come up with some topic that sounds interesting but that you know nothing about. Everyone will try to use some current event, but if your opinion on the topic is either 1)the opposite of the readers, or 2) uneducated or vague, showing that you do not completely grasp the topic, then you will hurt yourself.

Stay in an area that you are comfortable with, have it checked by someone who REALLY knows what they are doing for grammatical and spelling errors, (a teacher, not a friend who gets OK grades in English). Spelling, structure, and grammar probably matter more on this essay than on any other you have ever written.

So ask yourself: What do you REALLY WANT to write about? your enthusiasm will show.
Good luck!
