Throughout my life, I have seen peer pressure in many forms. I rarely paid attention to peer pressure because it had never directly affected me. However, in the autumn of 2007 I experienced peer pressure first hand.
It (what is it?) had all started when I began my first day of 6th grade. That day, I was very excited. There was little doubt in my mind that the year was going to be excellent because my two best friends, Jennifer and Alicia, were there with me. For a time, that year progressed smoothly, but soon things started to unravel. Jennifer and Alicia started to act “cool” by swearing and teasing students who were different, including me. Soon, most of my classmates began avoiding me in order to avoid being labeled unpopular themselves. At that time, with the loss of my two best friends I started feeling isolated and alone.
Desperate, I made numerous attempts to regain Alicia and Jennifer’s friendship, My first attempt was to reason with them. One day, I managed to locate Jennifer and I tried to make her see that what happened between us was unfair. I was given a slap in the face for my efforts. In my next method I tried to explain to Alicia how hurt I felt; my attempts were futile.
