Actually its not an HTML problem, its a Javascript problem.
invalid label is what the debugger says (firebug)

Your document.write line looks like you have a colon at the end instead of a semi-colon. fix that line and it will work.

i think that you should mention it but in a way that flows with your essay for example: when i got into high school i was still seeking a challenge that only applying for AP classes would fufill. or something like that.
im actually having trouble as well with the personal statement for UC. What did you write for prompt one?
