I don't know about websites (the ones I checked were scams), but Writer's Market is a good source for many different types of publishers.

Samuel Said:

What are some good writing jobs?

We Answered:

Internet blogs, law firms, marketing and advertising. Just about anything really needs good writing skills.

Lucille Said:

What are some good jobs with lots of writing?

We Answered:

You might consider copy-writing for an advertising agency, TV station or radio station. Salaries are good and you will certainly do a lot of writing. It will be challenging and you constantly work with deadlines. Technical writing for training manuals and other types of technical material also pays fairly well, but usually not as much as an advertising agency. Scriptwriting is another aspect writing that you might enjoy. There are writing positions in newspapers and magazines that require solid writing skills. Most of these positions require a degree in journalism, english or a similar area would be good.

Anthony Said:

How do you get a job writing articles & exposes for magazines & websites?

We Answered:

Write query letters to magazines proposing your ideas/article topics. Keep them no more than three paragraphs.

Queries are a lot like resume cover letters. Play up your strengths, play down your weaknesses. DON"T mention that you have little or no experience. Send out a bunch of them, personalize each one.

Also, pick up a Writer's Market from a bookstore for 2006 or 2007 if you have one. It will tell you which publishers take unsolicited queries.
