Writing A Job Ad

Theodore Said:

Recently, an ad for a Technical Writing job has appeared on EVERY DAY of my calendar!! And I can't erase it.

We Answered:

Sounds like you've been hacked. You might want to change your password to stop this.
You should also change your preferences in Calendar. Click on the "Calendar" tab at the top of your yahoo in-box.

Click on "Options then on "Sharing" and go through this form to make the changes. Put a mark in the box that says "No one can view my calendar." Also check the box next to "Private."
Be sure to click "Save."
Now, go back to your "Calendar" page, and click on the "Event Lists" tab to open the list of events. You have the option to delete the events you don't want here.

Andrew Said:

When a job ad says to submit an application 'in writing?'........?

We Answered:

It usually means that they have an application form that you need to fill out, submitting a cover letter and resume without the application form will not get you the job. I am sure the application does not have to be hand written (unless specifically indicated).

What does Principals, and Recruiters mean, when applied to a writing job? career?

We Answered:

Principals are the individuals seeking the job.

Recruiters are people who work for a living to help other people find jobs. I'm a recruiter. I help people. But apparently the hiring company in your situation doesnt want me to call. They know I might want to charge a fee for my work.

I need an Internet Job?

We Answered:

Vivian Said:

my ad got flagged by craigslist, but I don't know why. Could some one help me?

We Answered:

You did not break any of their rules so your ad should not have been removed. They are trying to remove the scammers and spammers so they look for certain words and phrases. You get close to the edge when you use "pull traffic" since so many scammers are selling "traffic" at their websites.
Using "direct response" and "gorilla marketing" is often a warning sign of a scam. The scammers promise that they have a secret way to get your business or website discovered.

Since you are not a scammer, try taking out those phrases, and see what happens. Keep making your ad simpler and simpler until it is accepted. Then you can add back in to see what is setting off the flag.

writing job ads?

We Answered:

I have a friend that does some of them and she usually does $20/hour, or if it's like the whole day baby sitting, she will come up with a daily rate to give them a little discount!
