Spiritual Writing Jobs

Joseph Said:

I have some questions for a spiritual counselor who hears God's voice?

We Answered:

Here are some verses that i think will help you:
Proverbs 11:28
He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
Psalm 31:7
I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities; And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.
Psalm 31:23
love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
1 Corinthians 3:8
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.

Lorraine Said:

Can somebody please rate my writing style 1-10 Beginning of my story? Again it's very, very short!?

We Answered:

You've got some issues with grammar (specifically apostrophes and sentences/ phrasing), which I found fairly irritating but not off-putting.

The writing is a nice easy-read, accessible style. I think this is a good choice for someone of your age, as it is easier to make things flow if you write what you yourself would say in the situation.

I would worry that you have given away too much in what is essentially the first few pages. However, you would probably adjust this as and when you write more of the story. I just feel it would be nice to withhold some of the detail until further into the story. (This may depend on how long you expect the story to be i.e. short, novella, novel, series).

Overall, very well written for a thirteen year old, compelling, if a little revealing for a first snippet.
Good luck!!

Felix Said:

How can I get my boyfriend to see he needs help?

We Answered:

I would give him a depression workbook. It identifies causes of depression and ways to eliminate it. Look for one in a bookstore.

I give workbooks to clients. They like them and benefit from them.

Susan Said:

How do you like my writing? 10 points and fairly short. Also it's the beginning of my story?

We Answered:

Wonderful - I mean, it still needs some fine tuning but as this is only the second draft, wonderful. The idea behind it is simply captivating, especially if you plan on switching back and fourth between the angel's view and Elizabeth's view - that would be cool. I was glad you spilled the beans behind the quest at the very end, it made it even more interesting, BUT I think that might have been way too much to take in. Maybe you should keep the secret a mystery for awhile, I mean the whole prophet and dark force thing, lay that information down on us later - maybe?

This is mostly telling - rather than showing, so I can see this as a little preface, introduction like thing. Try to avoid 'telling' throughout the rest of the story though. It's much more interesting when we learn more through actions rather than thoughts.

Good luck with this, you have tons of potential. ^_^
