You can consider a 5000 plus fine, 1 to 3 years in jail plus having to pay back all of the money to the bank

Paying back the money will be a mandatory condition for any sentence they get.

contact local newspapers, ad agencies, magazines, and apply for jobs editing or submit your own works for publication. advertise locally to work as a tutor or proofreader.........

you will do nothing but waste your time focusing on an "on-line job", instead of wasting your time doing that spend it looking for conventional jobs that will hire you and allow you to work remotely...
advertise your talents and specialties ..... work for yourself or freelance....

I would only do it if it is a reputable company and you actually talk to someone that can verify that they are from that company.

There are many, many NON-scam freelance writing jobs on the internet. You do need to be able to write English with correct grammar, however. Besides bidding sites like elance and getafreelancer, there are sites that pay directly for articles. Too many to list here...
