So, Im Trying To Submit A Sample Of Book Im Writing Online. Any Good Websites? Publishing Companies? Tips?

We Answered:

What is the purpose of you doing this? Publishing companies and agents do not want to see your incomplete manuscript (if you're writing nonfiction, that's a different animal), and they do not have the time or inclination to give you feedback. Not only that, but most reputable publishers (with a few notable exceptions, Baen, Roc, and Tor being three of them) do not take unsolicited, unagented manuscripts.

Finish the novel first, then worry about marketing it.

Tips and/or ideas for writing a good rock song?

Sit down, hum out tunes make things up, then try them. Works for me! and power chords are a good starting point for a rock song, or a slow plucky bit :)

Gonna try online dating. Anyone got any tips for writing personal profiles?

We Answered:

Be yourself and put in a touch of humor. The thing is, if you try to make yourself out to be something different or better than what you are for the sake of attracting more mates, then you are doing yourself a disservice because you want to find someone who is right for you. If it asks about who you are, list the things that take up most of your day. If it asks what you are looking for, ask yourself the top qualities you would like to see in a mate (don't say big boobs and red hair!). Just have fun with it and see how it goes... good for you for putting yourself out there. :)
