Google Adsense Question...?

We Answered:

Well.. Your teacher is right, and if you're good at it, and get good exposure, you can even make quite some money of your blog with Adsense.
But, to answer your questions:
1. Yes, adwords is the advertisers end of the system. It is where you pay google to have your ad shown on the web.
Adsense is the publishers end of the system, it is where you get paid to show the ads (coming from adwords) on your website. Adsense is the part you are looking for.

2. No, you do not need a paypal account. In fact, Google isn't too fond of paypal, since they have their own system which they try to push through, called "checkout". But, you don't need an account there either. You do need a bankaccount for wired transfer, or a valid home address for the cheque if you prefer that.

3. Normally you should have at least one blog/website when you subscribe to adsense. They will check your website/blog, and approve/disapprove. Once your account is approved, you can put your adsense code on any website/blog you like/own, as long as it is conform the adsense TOS (no drugs, sex, violence, gambling, ...)

4. As for writing experience, try ezinearticles.com, that's an article-directory. You can submit some articles there, and this will give you incoming links and publicity for you as a writer, and for your blog. Besides that, they have heaps of great tips and info on how to write better articles.
And don't forget: practice makes perfect!!!

How to get work in editing in NYC?

We Answered:

y'know...I'm seeing a lot of the same answers dealing with the jobsearch and my career thing. I think it's a spambot.

(uhm, I think the internships are "placed" by those schools, sorry)

but you can simply go in and ask their HR department how to apply and what they're looking for. It doesn't hurt.

Online jobs where you actually do work?

We Answered:

54-55 online job offers are fake, if you really are looking for one remember no real job would ask you for money for applying or getting started. If you are really interested in finding something you can do at home find a local store that needs help with their website.

Is it a bright future for journalism/editing/writing?

We Answered:

Journalism is a good field and it all depends on where you get the job. The best cities for Journalism careers are New York City, Chicago, and Atlanta!

Most jobs with major book publishers and magazines are in big cities like New York and Los Angeles, while jobs with newspapers and trade magazines are more widespread.

Government economists expect almost no job growth for editors through 2016. A small number of jobs may be created by the growth of online publications and of magazines and newspapers aimed at readers with special interests.

Competition for jobs in this field is stiff, since many people with training in writing are attracted to the occupation.

According to government economists, jobs for technical writers should grow faster than the average for all careers through 2016. Scientific discoveries, progress in technology and electronics, and changes in the law all create a need for people who can explain new ideas and procedures to a general audience. Technical writers and writers with training in a special field, such as medicine, will have the best chances of finding work.
