Online Magazine Writing Jobs

Theodore Said:

Writing for an online magazine?

We Answered:

Yes, I did the Rolling Stone internship in high school and it was a great experience. I got to travel with Paramore and Evanescence. At the end of the summer, I wrote up my experiences at $5000 for it!

Apply on the website and make up all these music articles and magazines you worked for. You have to embellish a little bit!

Samuel Said:

How can you tell if an online job offer is genuine and not a scam?

We Answered:

If they have not seen any samples of your writing then it has to be a scam. The fact they did not mention your name means they send this to everybody. If your email address doesn't contain any part of your name (like writer_123@yahoo instead of johnsmith@yahoo or johns@yahoo or jsmith@yahoo) test it by writing back saying it's a shared email account and who is the specific intended recipient so you can forward to the correct person in the office. If they do not come back with your full name, then you know this has to be a scam.

Just because someone is posting lots of ads doesn't mean they are real, that's usually the sign of a scam - they try post ads everywhere including legitimate sites to get as many potential victims as possible

These days what legitimate magazine doesnt at least have a website? If they gave an address, google it and see if anything is there and look on google maps to see if it looks like a real office. If they didn't give an office address, then you know it's fake. Look for the phone number with directory assistance, a real company always has a listed landline business number. And call the BBB in that city to check on them

But right now this appears to be a scam

Katie Said:

how can i get an online job at a magazine company at 15?

We Answered:

I wish I could give you better news. No one will hire you online. You might be able to pitch a story idea or two and get them published, but not any work that will pay substantially.

Why not start your own small business?

If you are good at writing, how about teaching younger kids to read and write. Tutors can make good money. How about editing work that others have done? Not do the work, but help to polish it off? Maybe you can get some hours at the Library? Or the local newspaper?

You could start a blog and you might get some followers.

Good luck!

Edna Said:

what are some online writing contests, or someplace (like a magazine) that a teen could write for, and be paid?

We Answered:

Check out Poet's and Writers - it's a magazine that has a lot of the contests that are listed for writers. As for teens, I would try those but also look at teen magazines, if you send them something they like, there's a great chance they'll take your stuff.
Unfortunately, part of being a writer is knowing you probably won't get paid anything at all. Unless you win big contests (mostly adult fiction) then you probably won't make more than $30 - $100 a publication. Also, take a look soon because a lot of publications have limited reading periods where you can only submit at certain times.

Other than that, keep writing, don't get discouraged, keep submitting! Good luck!

There are so many online scams are existing in the internet. Even search queries in popular search engines were displaying too many scam sites as top search results. After long time searching for work from home sites, finally I have found a website which helps to make money online for free :
