If you are new to the online writing scene and not an experienced published writer then you might want to try building a portfolio of your work at some of the websites which publish your articles for free. Some also offer you the chance to earn money with the ad revenue from your articles.

If you are in America then I would recommend eHow - www.ehow.com
- you can write how to do things you know and earn money (it's a slow trickle of money through ad revenue but some people on there are doing really well) Anyone can write for ehow but you can only get paid at the moment if you are in the US

Another site like this is Infobarrel and you can earn money where ever you live but you need to set up a Google Adsense account for that.

I write for both and I prefer the InfoBarrel website but both are easy to join and do.

If you are an experienced writer then you might want to consider the freelancers site www.elance.com where you can bid on work depending on your areas of expertise.
