Music Writing Jobs

Cindy Said:

What are the most porfitable freelancing (photography, music, or writing) jobs and how do I get them?

We Answered:

Writing is a good career. You can submit articles, short stories, books, it requires spelling checks.....My brother owns a Photography Studio in Manhattan...he makes really good $ but works 18+ hrs daily...
But there are a lot of ups and downs...Wedding in Spring early Summer...he took a long time to make it a year around financial windfall. You can try for an Internships w/newspaper...for writing and photography.

Where Can I Get A Job Writing Music For Others Online?

We Answered:

I recommend you set up an account with any one of these programs: elance, rentacoder, guru. you will be in competition with other people, but people have had success here.

the other thing you can do is go onto myspace and create a blog about your services and interact with forums or groups related to your top. interface with bands and musicians. they need a lyricist. you're their person.

Stanley Said:

What kind of jobs could you get as a music journalist?

We Answered:

Pod casting : Is the future of music reviews or writings. It's more interactive, multidimensional and much more emotionally involved than just reading and
article. My suggestion to any student entering J school is to take extra credits in multimedia technology. The spoken word is making a comeback !
The New Yorker is ,as far as I'm concerned, an excellent example of where the industry is heading http://www.newyorker.com/online
Study it well it might help you choose your student path

Mary Said:

Are there any cool music jobs that don't require a music degree?

We Answered:

if you're proficient on an instrument, you can pursue that. if you want a job in the music industry, 99% of the time you'll need a music degree. you could work for a record company or possibly a recording industry, but you'd need at least an associates degree from a community college.
