You dont ever pay processing fees, its illegal for a real employer to make you pay they have to pay if they are the sponsors

yup its legal. they can decide not to hire you based on just about anything. welcome to the overly paranoid 21st century. i would strongly advise being super nice to the hr people even though they are crappy cause they can do anything they want with your drug test. you might want to talk to the people that you interviewed with and hired you too just to keep them up to date on whats going on and express continued interest and not let hr act like a laison.
