You can get a higher degree in writing if you can afford it and you want to brush up on your writing skills. The process of reading and editing from peers can be invaluable. As long as you did well (around 3.0 or higher) in you bachelors, you should be able to find a good writing program.

you need to start WRITING to get your foot in the door! Offer to write for newspapers, magazines, editorials, etc for free or that they only pay you if they decide to use your article. At this point, just getting publishes and your name out there is a huge part in networking and building a resume. That is the more commerical writing, if you plan on being an author or other, I would suggest starting lots of scripts now and finding a group of writers as a support group to edit your work
