There's a lot of people that can write music, but they are not good at writing lyrics. So I would suggest that you try and find such people and then give them a sample of your work. DO NOT give them the whole song. You also need to register your lyrics if you wish to make future royalties of it. I do not know the American equivalent, but in SA there is an organization called SAMRA - South African Music and ? Association, when all singers, lyricists and song writers register their work. This association also sometimes bring music writers and lyricists together if they make enquiries.

So I would suggest that if you think your work is good enough, find out what the equivalent organisation is in your country, get your work registered first so you have the copyright and then start looking for appropriate music writers. If this organisation can't help you, just start advertising yourself on the internet. But do NOT give anyone your original work without protecting yourself.

there isn't a specific job for band lyrisists. most bands write thier music themselves, and the others who don;t usually go to open mic nights where songwriters display thier lyrics. you have to be able to play and sing them. so if you know how to write music its a plus

Songwriter's lyricwriters and composers are all independent contractors. If you want to try marketing your songs today, you need to get them recorded and put them out on the Internet where bands, promoters, artists A&R reps and producers can actualy hear them. Most songwriters make demos and peddle them to artists or record companies, or just do their own work into songs and release them themselves.

While your lyrics are enjoyable, the record companies want something commercial and different when they go shopping. You'd probably have to write about what they want on demand.

Look up recording studios, large scale or low scale closer too home, you could also contact those further away, doesn't necessarily mean you need too move too where the recording label is.

Just contact them, they will reply back either asking you too put some stuff together for them or they will set up a meeting. Lyricists usually play a part in writing the instrumental as well however.
