Jobs In Script Writing

Christine Said:

How can I get into a career into writing/acting in television or film?

We Answered:

It would be realy hard to start acting like that. The best way would be to get an agent. If you are going to be in any productions you should try and contact agents through letter or email and see if they would able to come and watch your performance.

How Can I Get a Job Writing In The Television Industry?

We Answered:

Typically you take an online sitcom or dramatic television writing course that last about 8-10 weeks. You develop a sample script during this time, but realistically it is unlikely that you can develop a good tv script in that amount of time on your own.

So at the end of the course, whic might cost $400 or so, you have the opportunity to sign up with your instructor to continue working on the script. This will cost you even more money, but there is no real alternative. If you have talent, then eventually you will bang out a sample script and your instructor will help you get it circulated and that may lead to an offer to join a writing team.

That's the way it works unless you have an inside connection. You have to have real writing ability, and you have to be willing to kiss your instructor's ***, some more than others, to develop a spec script that you can mail out to various writing staffs.

The chances are, you'll need basic SQL if not solely for reporting purposes.
