if you dont already know what a technical writer is, then you're probably not right for the job.

A technical writer is someone who WRITES technical stuff. mostly manuals for products or appliance. But you have to write the technical stuff accurately in a way that ordinary people (consumers) will understand. So they can USE the product or appliance in the way its supposed to be used.

Your spelling, grammar and punctuation has to be PEFRECT.

fingers crossed dude. talk about a dream job! anyway - my first piece would be for my new sports publication called "throws like a girl", obviously aimed towards women. but the articles aren't all sissy-pants-who's-the-hotter-pitcher-in-… crapola and not even a bunch of women's rights pieces deluged in AAGPBL and WNBA undertones. no! this is gonna have contributions from the likes of buster olney, tim kurkjian, john clayton, chris mortenson...etc etc etc; basically ESPN magazine only with female-directed advertising. can't tell ya how tired i am of getting my ESPN mag and seeing ads with gigantic, greasy bewbs selling the masculine product.

that all aside, my first piece would be an in depth story on manager's arguments with umpires - how important they are for supporting the team, how much is too much, an excerpt on all-time favorite explosion a la sweet lou, and what the perfect recipe is for an incendiary ejection.
