If so, then you should consider writing articles first of all for your own blog, if you have one that is, if not may I recommend you set one up. You can then post your own material there and also with a whole range of Internet Article Marketing Directories.

These articles are then lifted by many other marketers who need whatever content you have written and your source code has to be taken with the article because you are the author. These articles are known as Ezine articles or in other words (Electronic Magazines). Your name then gets around the internet and spreads virally. You get noticed by the search engines when someone is looking for the topic about which you have written and your blog comes up in the search results.

You can generate income by monetising your blog for advertising etc.

Another way of making money as a writer is to offer your services as a Freelance and this can be very lucrative as many marketers are always on the look out for good quality writers.
