The mantra to succeed in the freelance world is marketing your skills.1. First, create a portfolio of articles in your areas of expertise and interest.
2. Use Google and other search engines to find e-mail IDs of online magazines and the online versions of print journals.
3. Next, go to your local library and get the e-mail IDs of local journals and newspapers.
4. Send e-mail to the editors of newspapers / magazines, expressing interest that you want to contribute articles to their publications. Attach to the e-mail one or more of your best writing samples. If the editors like your writing, they would contact you.
