No you shouldn't be upset with her. If you keep wining and dining her and buying stuff for her, she will believe that she is entitled to these things, and will expect them from you. And if you marry her and later get divorced, don't be surprised when she wants everything you own. Treat her as an equal, and she will respect you. If she wants you, then you don't need to buy anything for her to keep her.

There is an art reference book called "The Artists & Graphic Designers Market" by Mary Cox. New editions come out every year. it has tips on how to get work at Hallmark (or any major company). It includes interviews with the art buyers with information on how to apply and what type of art they are looking for.
