Give up the apartment. Advertise it as a sublet. While you are looking to sublet it, you will stay there and ask your dad for support if he is okay with it. You will also get money from the government.. or some sort of unemployment insurance.Ask also what are the ramification or cost to you when you break a lease. You still need to look for a job to let you by and dont be financially dependent.

When you got rid of the apartment, breaking the lease or subletting.. you move to your mom, then you have less financial responsibility. You still need a job to support you and not drive your mom insane. But you have better flexibility to pursue your dream.

When you are in financial trouble, going on a trip is out of the question. You need to resolve your financial problem. If he does not understand, then he is not the guy for you.
