Just keep trying and hanging in there. If your really keen and display this attitude at interview something will happen. What Kayla says is correct which makes the situation more difficult; and bear in mind we are still coming out (ever so slowly) of a bad recession.McDonalds is always a good place to start work. They usually interview in advance and only get in touch when they have a vacancy. They have a transient workforce which makes it difficult to predict when they need someone.
I guess what we are saying is not to take it personally.
Keep going on your journalist stuff tho' - eventually this could become full time and be your forte.
