Freelance Editing Jobs Online

Roy Said:

Where do you find freelance video editing jobs?

We Answered:

Hi Peter. I get my freelance work through oDesk. Although I'm not a video editor, I know there are plenty of jobs listed for that type of work on there.

The thing I like best about oDesk, as opposed to some other sites that were suggested, is that it's completely free to set up an account and apply for jobs.

If I were you, I'd head over there and set up a profile and get working on your portfolio.

Best of luck to you!

I'm thinking of becoming a freelance proofreader... Any tips?

We Answered:

I know two big freelance sites, which covers the area you are interested in: elance.com, guru.com. Maybe you can go there to check how you can get paid in the future.

Also, there is a new UK site. www.minutebox.com. You can also offer copy editing or proof reading service there. Apart from that, they cover different areas for you to sell your advice and skills. Good work from home choice.

What kind of small business could we start?

We Answered:

Sounds like you could do an online periodical, but that would take years to get going most likely. You could build websites for people, like photo album websites, or wedding video websites. But the main thing is to listen to people. Successful business is all about supplying a need. If you hear someone saying, "I wish there was a sight that..." or "Wouldn't it be cool if there was a place that..." you just might get your business idea from a random conversation, or one you overhear. A lot of the as sold on TV businesses just start with someone being annoyed by something, such as a blanket that falls off of them (Snuggie) or having to cut things laboriously (slapchop) anyway you get the idea.

No One Will Hire Me---Some Tips?

We Answered:

There are plenty of legit freelance sites that lets you bid for projects that pay decent rates for a writer. There are many who works as a full-time writer. The competition is tough and you must learn the art of personal branding, as well as setting your rates right. There is a rise in demand for social media people where you can use your writing skills to get your client's business get viral on the web. You can just do a self-study or you can get a short course certificate. Either way, you need to step out of the traditional way things were done. Good Luck!
