free lance writers salary?We Answered:
You should accept the job unless you have something else to do. From what you have said (freelance writer) you pick up any work from different people. Unless you can get a better offer, then why not accept this one? Also, as far as money is concerned, sums can differ a lot. I think a good way, since you are a begginer, to figure out your pay is to decide on how much money you want an hour. Depending on how many hours you work, multiply the two and voila! you have a figure to work with.
Also, if this guy is too demanding then (depending on your financial situation) don't be afraid to tell him the terms of the contract - that is, how many hours you can put in each day, and possibly what other work he can offer you in the future.
Good luck.

What's a good way to get rid of writer's block? We Answered:
Hack is right. When you have a block, it's also good to play either classical or jazz music...it has to have no words...because it works the right side of your brain, which is the creative side. Just get up, put on the music, wash some clothes, dishes or something else mindless, and then go back to it. Music WITH words will not help your writer's block. I learned this little trick in Psychology class, and it's worked wonders for me ever since.Alex Said:
Does writing freelance pay well? I am looking into a job in the paper as a free lance writer for extra money? We Answered:
The payment compensation for your work would truly depend on whatever agreement that you reached with the newspaper publisher. Many small scale newspapers pay a flat fee of $5-$50 per article. Other freelance writing jobs, however, get paid by the word, usually $.01 to $.05 per word.Have you not tried to contact them about employment at their company? Unfortunately, they will be the only ones who can tell you exactly what your compensation would be.
If you are interested in finding out about some reputable sites online, check out The E-ZMoney Guide. Although it's a small list, I have made about $2,000 over a period of months were I often worked only 1-2 hours a day.
Best of luck!

What should I do with the rest of my life?We Answered:
Your best bet is to get online find several of those aptitude tests they give that are supposed to find the perfect career for you and take them all and answer them honestly. You will get lots of career choices that are not for you and that you might find ridiculous but it will also list many that interest you and on your list that you have already come up with a few of them might be on the aptitude list of careers see if that narrows it for you.Julio Said:
How to get a job as a writer? We Answered:
First things first. The biggest thing you absolutely NEED to do to become a writer, is to write. Make sure you write every day, in some way or other. Journal, mock interviews, whatever you find most comfortable.I'm not sure what field of writing you are interested in, so there are a few different options.
1. You could just start writing, if you want to publish a book, and once it's finished go from there. This takes a long time, both the writing, and finding a publisher.
2. If you're looking at newspaper, magazine, or online. Depending on your intended area (column vs editorial vs reporter) you could take some English courses at the post secondary level. There are other courses related to journalism also available. Again, this could take a while to go through the schooling.
3. If you don't have too much of a preference, I would recommend writing some newspaper type columns, to build up a small portfolio. Once you have a handful of them, that are not date specific (Don't mention current events, or media) start sending them to smaller publications like free newspapers in the area. You could also try some smaller websites that have editorial type comments on a daily/weekly basis. Once you get accepted somewhere small, you've got a good start. You can build a printed (online) portfolio, and work your way up to larger publications. --This can take awhile before you start to get paid for your work.
4. You can also search for every writing contest and award that you qualify for, and start writing for them. (a new piece for each one) Once you win some awards or contests, you've got a solid base for your portfolio.
I hope this helps. Almost any way you go, it can take some time to get up there to making money from writing.
