Editing Writing Jobs

Anita Said:

How can I find an entry level job in writing/editing?

We Answered:

Most people find a job via networking, which is a fancy-pants term for talking to others. If you have contacts at the school where you got your degree, they'd be able to put you in touch with professionals in the field, and you can ask your friends and family if they know anyone.

To learn more, try googling "networking for job seekers" and "informational interviewing."

List of writing/ editing/ journalism jobs?

We Answered:

In all honesty I am a writer for a newspaper and an author of two books. The best thing I ever did for my writing was to go to college, get a journalism degree and become a journalist. You'll meet quirky people and experience events you'd never thought you would in the journalism field, which equals great anecdotes for stories and great ideas for characters. To be a writer ... a good one that is going to mean something to the world ... you're going to have to get out there and research. You can't sit on your butt all day and come up with ultra complex, witty sentences. Most people in the United States read on an 8th grade level.

Most people don't like to write and edit, though in journalism you have to do a lot of both. Work on them both as hard as you can. Develop special methods of writing or editing that sets your work apart from others' works.

Wanted to expand on the part concerning reading levels:

"In the United States, the average reading level is eighth grade. In 1992, the Educational Testing Service determined that half U.S. adults read at between first and eight grade level. That is about 148 million people. It gets worse. One quarter of Americans read below fourth grade level, meaning 74 million people would struggle with even the simplest, most well written ... materials. "

p.s. I know this isn't what you wanted and you'll prob. not pick this as a best answer, but this is the most honest objective advice I can give you. It also appears here that you need some work on grammar and punctuation. You write like you practice. So don't write one way when you're being informal and another when you're being formal. Not being rude with you here. Just trying to help.

Bessie Said:

is there any authentic website which offers online writing editing or data entry jobs. saghir_5@hotmail.co?

We Answered:

In general they are fake, if you really are looking for one remember no real job would ask you for money for applying or getting started. If you are really interested in finding something you can do at home find a local store that needs help with their website.
