Go to open mike auditions, its a great place to start and it'll allow you to see if you can make people laugh...total strangers. If you can make the crowd go wild then your on your way to more gigs and money and possibly fame.

Andrea Said:

How do you become a comedy writer for a late night talk show or comedy show?

We Answered:

These are the two ways I know of:
you can do stand-up, sometimes producers or other important people will go to stand-up shows to look for talent. alan zweibel who was a writer for snl did that and was approached by lorne michaels the creator and exec producer of snl.

Create a portfolio of writing samples and jokes.

Joe Said:

I have writing and voice talent, how do I get a job?

We Answered:

My creative writing professor just told us that Hollywood is always looking for new blood. Start writing short scenes of dialogue, and maybe you could end up writing for television or something. Then, just take a portfolio of your work to one of the studios down there. My professor said they take walk-ins for writers. You may want to get some extra research on stuff like this, if you're looking for a career...but, hope the gist of this helps a bit!
Happy writing! :]
