I agree with HS Academy...
Excellence in Writing is amazing for learning writing. I would recommend the Continuation Course A or B. They teach you how to write, not just tell you what to write about. Both my sons have taken that course and gone on to take community college courses while still in high school.

One drawback, it's expensive, so
-check HSLDA used curriculum listings
- purchase full price and sell it when you are done
-check an online auction site

I was able to resell mine for seventy percent of the purchase price.

Because while you're writing a word you have much more time to think your next word, pick the best way to express the things you want to say, you can erase a word, change it, nothing rushes you! This is the case for me to! I suck at speaking english! I never lived to an english speaking country and never had a friend or someone who I could talk english with! But I learnt to hear and read well because of the american movies and the internet.

northwestern university and the university of chicago are fantastic schools, both located near downtown chicago. They have low acceptance rates, and are highly selective, so if you don't think you're suited for a college as highly ranked as those, try the the university of wisconsin, a great school, but easier to get into. The University of Illinois- Chapaign Urbana, and The University of Michigan- Ann Arbor, are similarly good schools and would look good to whoever is viewing your resume.

I read a magazine called "Poets & Writers." - i don't know if you're looking for an undergrad or graduate program, but I have heard real good things about Minnesota's Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing program, and both the Dakotas are always mentioned in the aforementioned magazine. Also, this isn't on your list, but Boston U has an excellent EXCELLENT program. Good luck in making your decision!
