Frankly, the best way to learn English is the same way that babies learn it: full exposure. Unfortunately, that's hard to do in a controlled environment when the person isn't a child anymore. If she is literate in her own language, start giving her words and phrases, and possibly send her english-learning tapes and cds. Also, I know that Rosetta Stone has many programs out to teach languages to native English speakers- perhaps you could try to find something similar for her to try?

No You Should Not!!
Learning a language is something to be proud of completely!!
And adding the fact that you have an accent people would know that english is not your first language and maybe they would even feel that you did good by learning "2" languages
